Jerusalem, 6 October (LaPresse/AP) – Swedish activist Greta Thunberg was among dozens of deportees who landed in Athens, Greece, on Monday afternoon. A crowd of supporters gathered at Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport and chanted ‘Free free Palestine!’ as the activists disembarked one after another. ‘It's a shame that this mission has to exist! It's a shame!’ Thunberg told reporters and protesters shortly after her arrival. ‘I could talk at length about the mistreatment and abuse we suffered during our imprisonment, believe me, but that's not the point,’ she added. Instead, Thunberg urged world leaders and ordinary citizens around the world to end their ‘complicity’ with the “genocide” perpetrated against Palestinians in Gaza. ‘This action challenged our extremely violent way of acting,’ Thunberg said. ‘We cannot look away from Gaza.’
