France, Darmanin: ‘We failed in the case of the theft at the Louvre Museum’

Milan, 20 October (LaPresse) – The authorities ‘failed’ to prevent yesterday's theft at the Louvre Museum in Paris, where eight pieces of jewellery from the Napoleonic era were stolen. This was stated by Justice Minister Gérald Darmanin on France Inter. ‘What is certain is that we have failed,’ said the minister, ‘because criminals managed to put a goods lift on the public road to get people up there in a matter of minutes and recover priceless jewels, giving France a deplorable image.’
