North Korea, Pyongyang: “New hypersonic systems used in recent tests”

Seoul (South Korea), Oct. 23 (LaPresse) – North Korea has stated that its latest missile tests involved new hypersonic systems aimed at strengthening its nuclear deterrence. The report from KCNA (the regime’s official news agency) came a day after South Korea announced it had detected the launch of several missiles from an area south of the capital, Pyongyang, which covered a distance of 350 kilometers.

KCNA explained that the test was carried out with two hypersonic projectiles capable of accurately striking a target on land in the northern region of the country. Pyongyang described it as a strategic system, implying that it was designed to be equipped with nuclear warheads. However, KCNA did not disclose the name of the new missile system tested.
