Milan, 31 October (LaPresse) – Hundreds of people have been killed in Tanzania during protests that have been ongoing for three days following Wednesday's general election, according to the country's main opposition party. The BBC spoke to a diplomatic source who said there was credible evidence that at least 500 people had died in the clashes. Demonstrations took place in major cities, with young protesters denouncing the vote as unfair after leading opposition figures were prevented from running against President Samia Suluhu Hassan. Protests continued today in Dar es Salaam, in the Salasala, Yombo and Tegeta neighbourhoods.
