Rome, 9 November (LaPresse) – The Jerusalem District Court has granted Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's request to cancel his testimony scheduled for tomorrow in the corruption trial involving him, according to Hebrew media reports. Netanyahu's lawyers wrote to the court today requesting the cancellation of the session, citing ‘urgent diplomatic meetings’ that the prime minister is expected to hold on Monday. In a final decision in late October, the Jerusalem District Court ruled that Netanyahu must testify three times a week to speed up the pace of the trial, now in its sixth year. Netanyahu, however, has yet to do so and has seen numerous requests for the cancellation of hearings approved by the court, mainly due to issues related to the management of the war and related diplomatic activity.
