Ukraine, Lavrov: ‘Territories annexed by referendum are not up for discussion, they are Russian’

Rome, 9 Nov. (LaPresse) – "We are awaiting confirmation from the United States that the Anchorage agreements remain in force. I would like to emphasise that, despite their essentially compromising nature, we have not abandoned, and will not abandon, the principles that are fundamental to us. And the Americans understand this. No one questions the territorial integrity of Russia or the choice of the inhabitants of Crimea, Donbass and Novorossiya (“New Russia”), who made the fateful decisions to rejoin their historical homeland in the referendums of 2014 and 2022. Let us also not forget the need to address the root causes of the conflict, which we have repeatedly identified'. So said Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in an interview with Ria Novosti.
