(LaPresse) – Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has stated that the entire system of rifles, heavy weapons and missiles is ready to ‘defend the entire Caracas-La Guaira axis’, citing, in addition to the capital, the city where the country's main port is located. Maduro added that he was ‘very pleased to see that the militia's weapons depot is up and running,’ according to local media reports. The Venezuelan president's announcement came amid recent threats from Donald Trump's administration, which has intensified its pressure policy towards Caracas.
