According to a statement from Palazzo Chigi, the two leaders emphasised “the importance of cooperation between Italy and Turkey within NATO”. The meeting continued with an in-depth exchange on current international crises, with particular reference to the war in Ukraine and the situation in the Middle East. “The two leaders also shared their hope to continue strengthening bilateral relations in a very positive context of continued economic growth, including in strategic sectors,” the statement concluded.
