Ukraine, Putin: “Kyiv must withdraw from Donbass or we will take it by force”

Moscow, Dec. 4 (LaPresse) – Russia will obtain the Donbass, militarily or by other means, said Russian President Vladimir Putin. “It all comes down to this. Either we liberate these territories by force of arms, or Ukrainian troops leave these territories and stop fighting there,” Putin told India Today in an interview. “It is a difficult task and a challenging mission that President Trump has undertaken to reach a peace agreement in Ukraine. It is not easy to get the conflicting parties to reach any sort of consensus, but President Trump is truly, I am sure, trying sincerely to do so,” Putin added, noting that the proposals for a peace agreement in Ukraine presented in Moscow by US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner were based on agreements reached during the Russia-US summit in Alaska. “What our American colleagues brought us was based, in one way or another, on the agreements made during my meeting with US President Donald Trump in Alaska: we discussed these issues during the Anchorage meeting,” Putin said, calling the meeting with Witkoff and Kushner “necessary and useful.” Finally, Putin stated that Russia has no intention of returning to the G8.
