(LaPresse) – German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has once again called for the use of frozen Russian state assets in favour of Ukraine. ‘On the one hand, it is of course a matter of helping Ukraine, but on the other hand, it is also a matter of sending a clear signal to Russia,’ he said, speaking to the Bundestag, ‘namely that we will use the assets that are here to help end this war as quickly as possible.’ Pressure on Russia must be increased, he added.
