Madrid (Spain), 19 Dec. (LaPresse) – ‘We've waited 25 years, we can wait 25 years and one month to sign the agreement with Mercosur.’ This was stated by Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez at a press conference at the end of the European Council in Brussels. The socialist prime minister reported that, during the summit, he asked ‘member states that have doubts to think about Europe and the opportunities for businesses.’ ‘Given the trade war started by the US administration, we believe that the EU-Mercosur agreement is very important. Both because, after 25 years of negotiations, the time has come to conclude it and there has already been too much patience on the part of those involved, but also because it is a way of diversifying our trade relations,’ Sanchez remarked.
