USA, medical witness: “ICE agents prevented me from aiding Pretti”

Minneapolis (USA), Jan 25 (LaPresse) – From sworn statements submitted to the federal court in Minnesota it emerges that, after the shooting in which Alex Jeffrey Pretti, 37, was killed, a 29‑year‑old doctor attempted to provide aid but was initially prevented from doing so by ICE agents. This is what The Guardian reports. “At first the ICE agents would not let me through,” said the doctor, explaining that none of the agents near the victim was performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation, despite Pretti’s critical condition being evident. After insisting, the doctor was finally allowed to approach but reported that the agents seemed more focused on “counting the gunshot wounds” rather than checking for a pulse or performing resuscitation maneuvers. According to the witness, the victim had at least three gunshot wounds in the back, in addition to one in the upper left chest and another possible gunshot wound to the neck. “I checked for a pulse, but I did not feel one.” The victim — the witness recounted — had “at least three gunshot wounds in the back” in addition to one in the upper left chest and another possible gunshot wound to the neck.
