This was stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, according to reports by Russian news agency Interfax. ‘This would certainly be another step that could seriously destabilise the situation in the region,’ he said, adding that ‘Russia remains committed to helping ease tensions and, in this case, we would like all parties involved to exercise restraint and focus exclusively on peaceful negotiations to resolve the issues that appear urgent.’
