Washington (USA), Feb. 10 (LaPresse) – Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, during a Senate hearing, admitted that he had visited the infamous island owned by Jeffrey Epstein, despite having previously told senators that he had cut off all contact with the financier after their first meeting in 2005. “I had lunch with him while I was on a boat vacation with my family,” Lutnick said. The Commerce Secretary insisted, however, that his wife and children were with him during the December 2012 meeting and that he did not witness any of the alleged sexual crimes that took place on the island. “My wife was with me, as were my four children and my nannies. There was also another couple, also with their children. And we had lunch on the island. It’s true, for an hour, and then we left with all my children, my nannies and my wife, all together. We were all together,” Lutnick testified to senators. “I don’t remember why we did it,” he said.
