Dubai (United Arab Emirates), 11 February (LaPresse) – Iran ‘is not seeking to acquire nuclear weapons… and is ready for any kind of verification’. This was stated by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian during a speech given at the commemoration of the 1979 Iranian Islamic Revolution. Iran is in the midst of negotiations with the United States over its nuclear programme. It is still unclear whether an agreement on nuclear power will be reached. US President Donald Trump, in an interview with Axios, threatened to send another aircraft carrier to the area to put pressure on Iran. Meanwhile, the United Nations agency that monitors nuclear power, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), has been unable to inspect and verify Iran's nuclear stockpiles for months.
