Ukraine, Kallas: ‘Russia is gaining more from negotiations than from war’

Munich (Germany), 15 February (LaPresse) – ‘The biggest threat Russia poses right now is that it is getting more at the negotiating table than it has achieved on the battlefield.’ This was stated by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, at the Munich Security Conference. ‘And when it comes to negotiations, what matters more than having a seat at the table is knowing what to ask for when you sit down. The reason is very simple. Russia's maximalist demands cannot be met with a minimalist response. If the Ukrainian army is to be limited in size, so should Russia. Where Russia has caused damage in Ukraine, Russia should pay,’ Kallas added.
