Milan, Apr 2 (LaPresse) – Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi held a phone conversation today and “discussed in detail the developments related to the new conflict in the Middle East.” The Russian Foreign Ministry reported that the call was initiated by the Iranian side. “The ministers discussed in detail the developments related to the new conflict in the Middle East, the efforts undertaken by various states to ease tensions, and exchanged views on the progress of discussions within the United Nations Security Council regarding ways to ensure the security of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz and to address other consequences of the unprovoked aggression by the United States and Israel against the Islamic Republic of Iran,” the Russian Foreign Ministry stated.
