Iran, Pakistan’s Interior Minister meets ambassador of the Islamic Republic

Milan, April 20 (LaPresse/AP) – Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi today briefed Iran’s ambassador Reza Amiri Moghaddam on preparations for upcoming peace talks in Islamabad, during a meeting held in the capital. The ministry said both sides stressed the need for a sustainable solution through diplomatic channels to reduce regional tensions. The meeting took place just hours after Naqvi had informed US Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker at the US Embassy about the preparations for the talks. Naqvi was part of a delegation led by Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir, which visited Tehran last week to advance the peace process. According to reports, the Iranian ambassador appreciated Pakistan’s positive and constructive role in easing tensions.
