Iran, Germany: ‘Tehran must accept the US’s outstretched hand; there is scope to end the war’

Frankfurt (Germany), 21 Apr. (LaPresse) – “We can only urgently urge Iran to show itself ready for dialogue now. We know that the US Vice-President is willing to travel to Islamabad and this outstretched hand should be taken up by Tehran, in the interests of its own people.” This was stated by the German Foreign Minister, Johann Wadephul, on his arrival at the Foreign Affairs Council in Luxembourg. “We have a common interest in seeing this war end now and in seeing the Strait of Hormuz reopened. I can only urge the American side to continue to show this openness and to negotiate with Iran. I believe there is still a window of opportunity to end this war through negotiations,” Wadephul added.
