Iran, Tajani: "Speed up agreement and freedom of circulation in Hormuz"

Brussels, Apr 21 (LaPresse) – "We are strongly committed to ensuring free circulation in Hormuz. We have expressed our willingness to take part in an initiative to guarantee free maritime navigation, an international initiative that will then need to be authorized by Parliament and by the United Nations, in short not an individual initiative. In this we are ready to do our part, we are ready to be there." This is what Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani stated upon his arrival at the EU Foreign Affairs Council in Luxembourg.

"At the same time, we are working to reach a final agreement after the ceasefire, both between Iran and the United States in Islamabad, and between Lebanon and Israel in Washington. This is our priority, to also ensure that free circulation of ships can resume, because there are issues concerning the cost of fertilizers, oil and gas. So from this point of view, for our economy it is important that the timing to reach an agreement is accelerated," he added.
