USA, Tucker Carlson apologizes: "I'm sorry I supported Trump"

Washington (USA), Apr 21 (LaPresse) – Tucker Carlson expresses regret for the support given to Donald Trump in recent years. The former Fox News host, who has become one of the most outspoken critics of the Iran war launched by the US president, stated during a recent episode of his podcast and online show that prominent right-wing figures who backed Trump ahead of the 2024 elections are "implicated" in what is happening in the Middle East. "I think this is a moment to take stock of our conscience. You know, we will be haunted by this for a long time. I certainly will be," he said. "And I want to say that I’m sorry for misleading people; it was not intentional. That’s all I will say," he added. The conservative commentator also wondered aloud whether it was "always part of the plan" to go to war with Iran, noting: "I don’t want to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but clearly there were signs of a lack of moral stature — we knew that — yet there are many people of low moral stature who somehow manage to achieve results that go beyond their human depth."
