Lebanon, Katz: ‘If Hezbollah attacks us, we will continue to strike Beirut’

Rome, 8 June (LaPresse) – The Israeli army will continue to operate against Hezbollah in Lebanon and strike Beirut if the Lebanese Shia organisation attacks Israel. This was stated by Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz, who reiterated that “any attack on communities in the north will lead to an attack on Dahiyeh”, a district of Beirut considered to be Hezbollah’s stronghold. Katz added that Israel ‘categorically rejects Iran’s threats’. ‘Any Iranian attempt to link Lebanon and Iran and to attack Israel will meet with a strong response, as happened yesterday,’ he explained.
