Frankfurt (Germany), 12 June (LaPresse) – ‘As long as I am Prime Minister of Israel, Iran will not have nuclear weapons.’ Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wrote this in a message posted on X. Netanyahu stated that he has a ‘full understanding’ with US President Donald Trump on the need to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. ‘We are in full agreement on this issue,’ the Prime Minister wrote. In the message, Netanyahu noted that he has been ‘at the forefront for over 30 years’ in the international battle against Iran’s nuclear programme, arguing that without this pressure, Tehran ‘would have had atomic bombs to destroy Israel long ago’. The Israeli prime minister also accused Iran of seeking to “destroy the Jewish state”, assuring that he would continue to devote his efforts to preventing this: “As long as I am prime minister, this will not happen.”
