Rome, 18 March (LaPresse) – "It is hereby announced that the Deputy Chief of Staff, Dr Valerio Sarcone, will attend the inauguration of the Central Pavilion at the Giardini of the Venice Biennale – which has been refurbished thanks to funding allocated by the Ministry of Culture under the National Plan for Complementary Investments (PNC) to the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) – on behalf of the Minister of Culture, Alessandro Giuli". This was announced by the Ministry of Culture in a statement, following the controversy between the minister and the president of the Biennale Foundation, Pietrangelo Buttafuoco, regarding Russia’s presence at the Venice Art Biennale. The latter had stated he was certain of Giuli’s attendance, whilst Giuli, for his part, had not appreciated the decision to invite Russia without the government’s knowledge.
