Milan, February 13 (LaPresse) – "We regret President Trump’s decision to impose tariffs on European steel and aluminum. They are unjustified, and we will act proportionally to protect the interests of European businesses, workers, and consumers," said European Commission Economy Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis in an interview with La Stampa.
"We consider these measures to be illegitimate under international trade law and economically counterproductive. The trade and investment relationship between the US and the EU is the most important in the world. Economically, the stakes are very high," Dombrovskis added.
"We remain open to constructive engagement with the Trump administration, but we are ready to respond, as we believe these measures harm European economic interests," concluded the European Commissioner for Economy.
