Rome, Feb. 28 (LaPresse) – The measure "is worth 3 billion: 1.6 billion for families and 1.4 billion for businesses," stated Minister of Economy Giancarlo Giorgetti in a press conference after the cabinet approved the decree to tackle high energy bills.

"The decree extends the social bonus up to an ISEE of 25,000 euros, a contribution that will apply to utility bills. A 200-euro contribution will be provided to anyone with an ISEE between 0 and 25,000 euros. The funds will be drawn from the Energy and Environmental Services Fund, avoiding the need for additional debt," Giorgetti added.

The contribution "will rise to over 500 euros for those who already meet the criteria for the social bonus, namely households with an ISEE up to 9,530 euros," explained Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

The "Bills Decree" also includes "a two-year delay in the transition to the free market for vulnerable consumers and vulnerable micro-businesses."
