Rome, 31 March (LaPresse) – ‘The mayors of Rome and Bologna and the mayor of Perugia took part. And we chose to talk to Catholic and secular associations, with whom we have been calling for a ceasefire and an end to the arms race for some time now, and who want a Europe based on work and peace. A path that continues in the territories, also with the aim of involving everyone in the referendums of 8 and 9 June, against job insecurity and layoffs, for security in contracts and the recognition of citizenship for those who already work and pay taxes’. So said Maurizio Landini, secretary general of the Italian General Confederation of Labour (CGIL), in an interview with the Corriere della Sera after the open assembly for peace organised by the union confederation.
