Milan, April 5 (LaPresse) – "On Tuesday, we will start discussing with businesses, to hear their proposals as well, in order to define what can be done to make it truly effective. But I want to emphasize that any compensatory measures for the most affected sectors must be European, because otherwise, in response to the division of the West threatened by tariffs, we would end up responding with the division of Europe." This was stated by the Minister for Enterprises and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, in an interview with Sole 24 Ore, regarding the possibility of government measures in favor of businesses affected by the tariffs imposed by the US administration. "Any measures should be designed" within the state aid rules, Urso emphasizes, which "serve to prevent increasing the disparities between those who can invest more, because they have larger financial margins, and those with less, like Italy." Another matter, according to Urso, "is the market diversification plan with Simest, Sace, Invitalia, which we are working on. These have already supported our businesses well, which in the last five years, during the globalization crisis, have shown the greatest resilience and dynamism, increasing exports and positioning Italy last year as the fourth-largest exporter in the world after China, the United States, and Germany."
