Milan, April 5 (LaPresse) – "The European Union's share of the global economy is 22 percent, while that of the United States is 25 percent. We are on equal footing. We do not want a trade war, but at the same time, we can respond firmly. Just as America imposes tariffs on us, we must activate equivalent counter-tariffs." This was stated by the leader of the European People's Party, Manfred Weber, in an interview with 'Il Messaggero.' According to Weber, this position would be "in line with international law, after all, we want to ensure that the rules of global trade continue to be applied. It is not about provoking an escalation. We must respond with determination but with caution."
