Rome, May 16 (LaPresse) – "It is clear that, with one blast furnace having stopped and production unable to restart, we will have a production halved compared to what was planned and agreed upon, including with the unions through the agreement reached with them regarding the management of unemployment benefits. Half the production means half the workers compared to what was initially planned. But what worries me the most are the repercussions on the supply chain, which will not be able to receive the products it had ordered, and on the indirect sector, which the government had fully supported this year, allowing it to fully overcome the issues created by the extraordinary administration, also thanks to the resumption of production." These were the words of the Minister for Enterprises and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, speaking about Ilva, on the sidelines of an event in Milan. "Therefore, we must address with the unions not only the issues related to direct employment, which are important, but also those concerning the production supply chain and the indirect sector, which may be even more relevant. This is why I have invited the entire institution to work as a team, because there can be no one building and others obstructing," he concluded.
