Frankfurt (Germany), May 28 (LaPresse) – "President Lagarde has always been fully committed to completing her mission and is determined to fulfill her mandate," said a spokesperson for the European Central Bank (ECB) to LaPresse, regarding media rumors that ECB President Christine Lagarde might leave her position early in Frankfurt to lead the World Economic Forum (WEF). Lagarde’s eight-year term as head of the Eurozone’s central bank ends on October 31, 2027. The Financial Times cited Klaus Schwab, founder of the World Economic Forum, who said that Lagarde had discussed with him in April in Frankfurt the possibility of leaving the ECB leadership early to take over the presidency of the WEF.
