Milan, May 30 (LaPresse) – “Filosa is a logical and credible choice. I hope the board of directors will support him adequately. We’ll see,” said former Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares in an interview with Bloomberg, where he spoke about the challenges facing the automotive world, also following the “chaos” caused by tariffs imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump.

The Portuguese executive described his departure as the result of a "very mature" discussion with John Elkann. “I have nothing against anyone,” said Tavares, “not even those who made my life more difficult when I was CEO of Stellantis.”

“At a certain point, you reach a crossroads, and someone decides it’s time to part ways. That’s fine,” he added. “Dealers in the United States didn’t want to support what we were trying to do, and that’s my responsibility.”

“Many things could have been done differently, but that doesn’t matter. The company is profitable,” he emphasized.
