Milan, 28 October (LaPresse) – "Food prices have certainly risen, but much less than two years ago. Two years ago, they were sky-high, now they are still quite high, higher than average inflation. So we have an average of 2% and food prices are slightly above that. We must ensure that they fall, because food is very important." This was stated by the President of the European Central Bank, Christine Lagarde, during her visit to the Sant'Ambrogio market in Florence, ahead of the ECB Governing Council meeting to be held this month in the Tuscan capital.
