Rome, 1 November (LaPresse) – November will be full of news for consumers, with some important deadlines awaiting citizens that could revolutionise users' daily lives. Codacons reminds us of this, reviewing some key dates and analysing the consequences for families. The most eagerly awaited date is undoubtedly 19 November, when the ban on telemarketing for fake national calls from mobile numbers will come into force. This step follows that of 19 August, when the first regulatory tightening came into force with the entry into force of an Agcom resolution that automatically blocked calls from fake Italian landline numbers, leaving mobile numbers, from which most unwanted calls originate, unprotected. On Wednesday 19 November, the ban on spoofing will be extended to mobile numbers: operators and call centres will no longer be able to use fake Italian mobile numbers to trick users into answering and offering them commercial contracts or financial investments. This will be an important test to see whether the new rules can limit the 15 billion unwanted calls that, according to Codacons estimates, Italians receive on their phones every year. Another important date for citizens is 30 November, which could see the shutdown of many speed cameras throughout Italy. On 29 September, the MIT published the decree that makes the telematic platform operational, giving local authorities and law enforcement agencies 60 days to communicate all the details about speed detection devices: location, compliance, model and type approval of speed cameras.
