Madrid (Spain), Dec. 19 (LaPresse) – The governor of the Bank of Spain, José Luis Escriva, stated in an interview with the public TV channel TVE that next week the institution will revise upwards the country’s growth forecasts for this year and next, thanks to the strong performance recorded in recent months. “The latest data, similar to European figures but with significantly higher growth in Spain, have confirmed the resilience and reasonable dynamism of the economy,” said Escriva, a former minister in the Sánchez government. In the last revision, carried out in September, the Bank of Spain had decided to increase GDP growth forecasts for this year by two tenths, bringing them to 2.6%. According to the EU Commission and the OECD, Spain’s growth this year will reach 2.9%.
