Milan, Jan. 9 (LaPresse) – The President of the European Central Bank, Christine Lagarde, in an interview with Bloomberg TV, emphasized that she is not interested in returning to French politics or running in the presidential elections to be held in 15 months. "I have seen presidents come and go, I have seen them age and change, and it is past time to go to bed," Lagarde said. "I am here and now, but the truth is that I have always taken risks. I have never tried to secure a position to guarantee my pension, well-being, and a permanent mandate," she added, jokingly referring to herself as "Madame Crisis." Lagarde, former Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund during the financial crisis of the 2010s, also said: "I do not believe I am someone who gives up. I can change, I can escape, but I am not someone who gives up, no," responding to a question about whether she had ever considered leaving a role she held.
