Rome, 26 May (LaPresse) – ‘Confindustria has resumed direct and ongoing dialogue with the trade union confederations. And together, rather than focusing on the points that divide us, we have established a common position so that national collective agreements signed by the most representative organisations become the benchmark for all workers, across all sectors.’ So said Confindustria President Emanuele Orsini in his address to the 2026 Assembly. “And the Government has listened to us,” he said. “From this combination of a ‘good’ contract and a ‘fair’ wage, a responsibility pact can emerge to overcome ‘pirate’ contracts, which depress workers’ incomes and rights and constitute unfair competition for those sectors, such as manufacturing, that ensure better pay and better corporate welfare. I am proud of the joint work we have begun with the trade unions, which continues on many other fronts, the most important of which remains safety at work. Today, the main Italian trade union confederations are advocating priorities in Europe that are similar to ours, starting with the issue of energy, to defend industry and jobs."
