Santa Fe (New Mexico), Feb 27 (LaPresse/AP) – Oscar-winner Gene Hackman, his wife and their dog were found dead in different rooms of their Santa Fe home, and had apparently been dead for some time, according to investigators.Hackman, 95, was found dead in the hallway and the body of his wife, Betsy Arakawa, 63, was found in a bathroom next to a stove, Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office detectives wrote in a search warrant. There was an open jar with pills scattered on a counter near Arakawa.Denise Avila, a spokeswoman for the sheriff's office, said there were no injuries on the bodies. New Mexico Gas Co. is cooperating with the county sheriff's department. The utility company has been testing gas lines in and around the house. At the moment, nothing abnormal has turned up, but they point out that people exposed to gas or carbon monoxide leaks may not show signs of poisoning.
