Milan, April 19 (LaPresse) – Director Angelo Longoni has died at the age of 68. The news is spreading on social media: among others, director Stefano Reali remembered him with these words: "He had been fighting a rare tumor, an asbestos-related mesothelioma, for seven years, yet he managed to maintain an incredible working capacity." "But above all," he added, "he managed—as anyone working in the industry knows they are forced to do—to keep his illness absolutely silent. There is something sinister in the fact that, working in show business, we are ALWAYS forced to keep such a condition as secret as possible, one that by itself could plunge anyone into depression." Longoni is survived by his 20-year-old daughter and his wife, Eleonora Ivone.
