Rome, October 7 (LaPresse) – "The RSU, the female and male workers of Teatro La Fenice wish to express their sincere thanks to all those who, in recent weeks, have shown their solidarity with our stance regarding the recent appointment of the new music director Beatrice Venezi." This is stated in a union communiqué from the workers of La Fenice. "The support we have received represents an important sign of cohesion, awareness, and shared values that transcend different local musical contexts. At such a delicate moment for our theater, this demonstration of solidarity strengthens the collective sense of responsibility that the performing arts world must maintain, especially when artistic quality, the credibility of cultural institutions, and respect for work are at stake. We reaffirm our opposition to an appointment that we consider inadequate and the result of a top-down decision, lacking dialogue and participation. Your support shows that the workers’ voice is not isolated but part of a broader common feeling, attentive and critical, that seriously looks to the future of our cultural institutions. To all of you who have wanted to show us your closeness, we extend our deepest thanks," concludes the statement from the RSU, Female and Male Workers of Teatro La Fenice in Venice.
