Milan, Dec. 23 (LaPresse) – In an Instagram story, American singer Barry Manilow announced that he has been diagnosed with lung cancer. “As many of you know,” he wrote to his fans, "I recently suffered from six weeks of bronchitis, followed by a relapse of another five weeks. Even though the bronchitis had cleared up and I was back on stage at Westgate Las Vegas, my wonderful doctor prescribed an MRI just to make sure everything was okay. The MRI discovered a cancerous spot on my left lung that needs to be removed. It was pure luck (and a great doctor) that it was discovered so early. That's the good news.“ ”I will have to undergo surgery to remove the spot. The doctors don't believe it has spread, and I'm undergoing tests to confirm the diagnosis,“ he adds, explaining that the ‘A Gift of Love’ Christmas concerts are over and that those scheduled for January will be rescheduled and held in February. ”Something tells me that the weekend in February will be a big party," he points out.
