Turin, 23 January (LaPresse) – Mika officially releases his new album “Hyperlove” today. A pop artist with over 20 million albums sold worldwide and Platinum and Gold records in 32 countries, winner of a Brit Award and Grammy nominee, Mika returns to release an English-language album for the first time since 2019. “Hyperlove” inaugurates a new, deeply personal chapter in the artist's career, who also returns to the piano as the emotional centrepiece of his writing. Coinciding with the album's release is the single “Excuses For Love”, which encapsulates the heart of “Hyperlove”'s message: an invitation to emotional honesty in a world that often encourages control and repression of feelings. Produced entirely with analogue instruments and retro sounds, the album explores the tension between human vulnerability and modern technology. The project also marks a reunion with Nick Littlemore, the creative mind behind Empire of the Sun and Pnau, as well as producer of “The Origin of Love”. Director John Waters also contributes to the album, appearing as a guest narrator in several interludes. “Hyperlove” is a prelude to his Spinning Out Tour, which will take Mika to major European cities, with two dates in Italy: 2 March at the Unipol Arena in Bologna and 4 March at the OGR in Turin. The tour will then continue in North America, marking the artist's return to overseas stages, with the first date at the Citizens House of Blues in Boston.
