Rome, Jan. 17 (LaPresse) – While waiting for the Asl report on the presence of asbestos in the RAI offices in Viale Mazzini, the prosecutors of the Rome Public Prosecutor's Office have opened an investigation file, without hypotheses of offences and suspects. The Asl technicians will have to report to the public prosecutor's office in Rome at the end of the investigation. After the report has been sent, the file, opened as a model 45, will be further investigated and it will be verified whether there have been cases of illnesses over the years that can be traced back to exposure to asbestos fibres. The offence hypotheses, which could be considered, are those of injury and failure to comply with workplace safety. After the board meeting, the company decided to grant smartworking to all staff, pending the transfer of the offices to a building on Via Cristoforo Colombo, between the Garbatella and Eur districts. The presence of asbestos in the building had emerged after a fault in the air conditioning system that caused a major water leak.
