Rome, Jan. 28 (LaPresse) – The former mayor of Rome, Gianni Alemanno, will serve the remaining 22 months of his sentence in prison, to which he was sentenced for influence peddling as part of one of the trials arising from the ‘Mondo di Mezzo’ investigation. The decision by the Rome Supervisory Court came after the former mayor was arrested on 31 December last after his alternative measure of probation to social services was aggravated by prison. According to the judges, who asked for his arrest, Alemanno had violated the prescriptions imposed on him by the court, such as not to associate with criminals.
