Vatican City (Vatican), 28 Feb. (LaPresse) – Pope Francis ‘in the early afternoon of today, after a morning spent alternating respiratory physiotherapy with prayer in the chapel, presented an isolated crisis of bronchospasm which, however, led to an episode of vomiting with inhalation and a sudden worsening of the respiratory picture. The Holy Father was promptly broncho-aspirated and began non-invasive mechanical ventilation, with a good response on gas exchange’. This was stated in the Holy See press room update on the condition of Pope Francis. The prognosis therefore remains reserved, the Vatican added.
