Milan, 9 Mar. (LaPresse) – ‘The separation of careers is not a risk for the prosecutor, who basically keeps his job. It is for citizens. Because the danger around the corner is a pm outside the jurisdiction, who no longer works to seek the truth, but a conviction at all costs’. Thus the Chief Prosecutor of Naples, Nicola Gratteri, interviewed by the ‘Corriere della Sera’ about the reform of Justice. The latter, for Gratteri, ‘has no bearing on the real problems’ of the sector, which are linked ‘mainly to the slowness of trials and the existence of procedural loopholes that prevent magistrates from spending all their time to decide, thoroughly, on each issue. The separation of careers is not a measure that can accelerate the duration of proceedings by a single minute'.
