Rome, March 10 (LaPresse) – The monocratic judge of the sixth criminal section of the criminal court of Rome postponed to June 25 the hearing in which journalist and writer Roberto Saviano is accused of defamation against the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Matteo Salvini. The charge Saviano has to answer for concerns a post published on social networks in which Saviano had called Salvini a ‘minister of bad life’, quoting the phrase Gaetano Salvemini used against Giovanni Giolitti, ‘because he used Southern Italy as a reservoir of votes, forgetting about it once he won the elections’. The new postponement, the third in the trial, is due to an institutional commitment that Salvini had to attend in Milan. The judge, accepting the petition for legitimate impediment, ordered the postponement, also announcing the preparation, for the occasion, of a video link-up.
