Trento, March 19 (LaPresse) – From Presanella to Adamello, from Peller to the Lagorai chain, including the peaks of Val di Sole, Pejo, Rabbi, and Brenta, avalanche risk remains high. This is reported in the Euregio bulletin, the institutional axis Trento-Bolzano-Innsbruck. "New windblown snow accumulations, as well as older ones, may partially detach when a single winter sports enthusiast passes through," the report warns. "Slopes with windblown snow, where weak layers are present in the old snow pack, are particularly unfavorable. Dangerous spots are mainly found on shaded, infrequently traveled slopes above 1,800 meters. Dangerous areas are also found on sunny slopes in high mountain areas. The number and size of dangerous points increase with altitude. On very steep, shaded slopes, avalanches can trigger the entire snowpack and grow to large sizes. Off-piste excursions and descents require experience in avalanche hazard assessment and careful route planning."
