Milan, 24 Mar (LaPresse) – Eleven people were intoxicated, including nine inmates, an agent and a doctor, and two prison officers were slightly injured when some objects were thrown by inmates and taken to the emergency room. This is the balance of the riots at Beccaria in Milan, where around 4pm some inmates set fire to a mattress and furnishings. The protest allegedly arose after two inmates opposed their transfer to the Ipm in Catania. In addition to the emergency services and 118 personnel, staff from the Nucleo Radiomobile and the Milan San Cristoforo Carabinieri Station were called in. The flames were extinguished by the fire brigade and the situation is currently under control.
