Rome, March 29 (LaPresse) – "The Pope has never stopped governing the Church, not even during his hospitalization at Gemelli. Of course, as we know, he had to slow down his daily activities. Now, the important thing is that he can rest and recover. As the doctors have said, he will need about two months." This was stated in an interview with Corriere della Sera by Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin.

Regarding the governance of the Church, Cardinal Parolin explained: "There is no essential change. The Holy Father needs to remain at ease, so to prevent him from becoming overly fatigued, only matters that he alone can and must decide are brought to his attention. The governance of the Church remains in his hands. However, there are many routine matters that the Curia's collaborators can handle without consulting him, based on prior instructions and existing regulations."

Finally, regarding the canonization of Blessed Carlo Acutis on April 27 and a possible delegation to Cardinal Marcello Semeraro, Prefect of the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints, Parolin clarified that this could happen "only if the Pope authorizes him to read the formula in his name, should he be unable to do so at that moment."
